Any the time you finish listening to one of his songs, African Gal, in which he collaborates with dancehall star Mr. Mosh, you will know that Jamal is one of local RnB’s newest sensational artistes.
His debut, African Gal, has recently parlayed itself into Sanyu FM’s East Africa’s finest, a vastly competitive chart show.

Blending RnB and dancehall, African Gal is a unique and sensuous formula. The song is also given a reggaeton feeling that will pull you onto the dance floor.
Jamal, who boasts of an exceedingly wide vocal range, first made himself a name when he won Sabrina’s Pub’s Karaoke competitions in 2001 and was crowned Mr. Sabrina’s, a title he still holds.

In 2003, Jamal took part in the MultiChoice-organised Pop Idols in which he emerged second. He also tried his luck in the Coca Cola Pop Stars competitions. Although he dropped out, Jamal was among the top 15 in the competition which the Blu*3 members won.

From the beginning, Jamal was determined to become a music star. His persistence has now seen him pull out of the shadows to emerge as one of the most promising RnB crooners on the local scene.

Jamal is now a fully-registered member of the Jungle Beat Crew, which is made up of Mr. Mosh, Nicky Nola, Emma Rich and another RnB songbird, Dorothy Bukirwa.

He has also sung a collaboration with Rocky Giant titled Gwabarasi.
Gwabarasi blends Bongo Flava and RnB. It is already in heavy rotation on some local FM radio stations. His other song is called Darling.
