THE Supreme Court today rules on the election petition filed by FDC president Col. Kizza Besigye seeking to nullify President Yoweri museveni’s re-election

THE Supreme Court today rules on the election petition filed by FDC president Col. Kizza Besigye seeking to nullify President Yoweri museveni’s re-election, writes Hillary Kiirya.

The country will then know whether they are returning to polls or Museveni takes office for the next five years.

By yesterday, the court registrar, Henrietta Wolayo, was in full preparations for the D-day. The judgment comes on the very last day of the 30 days within which a decision in an election petition must be passed as laid down in the Constitution.

Electoral Commission (EC) chairman Dr. Badru Kiggundu on Monday said they were ready to organise another election if court decided so.

Besigye’s and Museveni’s legal teams also said they would respect the Court’s ruling.
