JINJA College is constructing a new laboratory worth over sh900m to boost the teaching of sciences and computer studies.
The director of studies, David Oryang, said they have put up the laboratory as a response to the Government’s call to promote science subjects in the country.
Oryang said the school saved money and added on contributions from the parents and well-wishers to put up the laboratory.
“This is perhaps one of the largest and most modern laboratory in Busoga region. We plan to let other schools in Busoga, which do not have laboratories, to do their practicals from our lab,” Oryang said recently.
He said the well-furnished laboratory would be computer-monitored. Oryang said the laboratory will also double as a research centre.
“We have also finalised plans to train our students in computer skills,” he said.
Jinja College is a government aided boys’ boarding secondary school.
