Kibone—fresh from the Commonwealth Games outing—took control of the game, winning the first set 11-6.
However, the winner had a scare in the second set when Nakibule came from 2-7 down to level 7-7, but the latter’s excitement saw her lose 11-8 before Kibone finished it off 11-6 in the third set.
Nakibule, had earlier shocked teammate Asha Nambozo in the semi-final. Amina Lukaya did not turn up for the event.
In the U-18 boys’ team event, Elias Mwanje combined with Ronald Nyaika and Ronald Ntambi to help Kyambogo see off Butterfly team of Dan Kajubi, Rogers Tushabe and Edgar Mujuni 3-1 to lift the title. Mbale Tigers beat Nabumali to lift the girls’ U-18 team title.
