Let Uganda, Rwanda forget the Ngarambe saga

SIR — The recent scandal involving the Rwandan diplomat, Mr. John Ngarambe (right) and Joyce Ngaizi, a married woman should be put to rest and the parties involved left alone to get on with their lives.

It should never have been politicised in the first place because it was a very personal matter between two consenting adults much as it was inappropriate that someone’s wife was involved.
For the law that was infringed by their conduct, they should face justice and not politics because the subject is not worth politicking about. They must have learnt their lessons and served as a warning to many.
Surely, there must be many people and possibly among them more diplomats who go around behaving like Ngarambe but if the state had to be involved in incidents of this nature, the line between private and public matters would be overstepped. Let us forget it because it is of no benefit to either country.
