Mr. President, act now!

SIR — It is true Uganda has regained her glory under President Museveni’s government. However, my heart still bleeds when things go wrong. The NRM is my party. While addressing the public at Nambole President Museveni said that Idi Amin came and took our freedom away because we did not use our talents well.
One of the most important reasons why Museveni went to the bush in 1980 was to try and fight corruption that is eating up our society. I appeal to the President to take more serious measures to fight this evil because the situation is getting out of hand. Programmes like UPE are great achievements and I am grateful to the government. however, it is irritating to teach a class of 100 pupils and be expected to produce quality results.
It is true poverty in Uganda is not as bad as it was in 1986 but much more needs to be done. Many people are jobless and most of those who are employed earn peanuts. I request the president in his third term at the helm to be very careful and weed out all the lumbugu within the movement.

SIR — President Museveni has said he now has proof there is corruption within NRM ranks. Now we expect him to act to prove to Ugandans that he is serious.
