BUKWO — The Mt. Elgon National Park management has given sh4m to Chesower sub-county community environmental conservation project under a revenue-sharing scheme to communities bordering the park. Chief park warden Johnson Masereka on Monday said the donation would enable local communities initiate environment-friendly projects and income-generating activities that will reduce demand for scarce resources in the forests.

JINJA — The magistrate’s court on Tuesday asked a man who killed a dog belonging to a German to pay a fine of sh20,000 or serve a six-week custodial sentence.
