By Norman Katende INSPECTOR general of Police Maj. Gen. Kale Kayihura will lead CECAFA club champions Police FC to a state dinner this evening at State House, Nakasero.
Police FC patron Kayihura, who received the team at Entebbe Airport and declared them officers in the force, will lead them for a presidential handshake after they defied all odds to win the championship on their debut.
They beat the hosts Moro United 2-1 in extra time in Dar-es-Salaam last month to also claim the top cash prize of $30,000.
En route to the final, Police eliminated another home side Yanga FC in the quarter-finals. They are the third Ugandan club to lift the trophy after KCC and SC Villa.
Last year, the President hosted Villa to a dinner after they lifted the trophy in Mwanza.
