<b>No VIP for Uhuru</b><br>It was a full <b>Ekitoobero <br>a la carte </b>at <b>Nakivubo Stadium</b> last Sunday during the <b>CBS</b> tenth anniversary celebrations, when <b>Uhuru </b>Restauranteur, <b>Salim Uhuru,</b> offered to feed the artistes.

a la carte at Nakivubo Stadium last Sunday during the CBS tenth anniversary celebrations, when Uhuru Restauranteur, Salim Uhuru, offered to feed the artistes. He expected a fair treat back from the organisers, but it did not turn out that way. Rather, he loitered around the stadium like all the other lumpens since he did not have a VIP pass. After a while, he sneaked backstage to
assure some of the CBS staff, most notably Patricko Mujuuka, to make up for the mess. The MCs then made announcements in praise of Uhuru Restaurant.
Artistes fight for food
Backstage, it was not always calm. Chaos reigned when it came to serving artistes lunch. Traditional dancers and the so-called ragamuffins, notably lead by dread-locked Dizzy Nuts of the little known City Limit Crew, raided the waitress and dived in for the foil packs like rowdy street kids. They shovelled the food down fast, and returned for another round, only to find mashed meat.
Jeckaki’s Aziz beaten
The guards manning the entrance to the backstage barely knew who was who and insisted on proper identification. Jeckaki Band, which backs up all popular artistes like Chameleone got off worse.
Its Aziz Mukisa was battered by one of the guards as he went past the entrance without identification. He cried like a baby, and it took a lot of comforting from other female artistes to convince him to get on stage.
Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine change costumes
Coincidentally, the three top reggae artistes, Bebe
Cool, Bobi Wine and Jose Chameleone all turned up in white garbs. But Bebe and Bobi got to Nakivubo after Chameleone had finished his performance. Noticing the white “uniform†for the day, Bebe Cool returned to his car and changed into a green suit, while Bobi went away and returned in a different attire.
