SPENCON Services has won a $36m (sh66.6b) water supply and construction deal in southern Sudan, the managing director, G.N. Reddy, has said.

Reddy said on Tuesday that the deal, which is broken down into two phases, involves a $19m (sh35.1b) Juba water supply, rehabilitation and construction project.

He said the $17m (sh31.4b) would be used for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Juba government offices and various schools in the capital.

“Our company has ben named among the many firms ready to take part in the rehabilitation programme of the Sudan sub-region. We should be embarking on full works on the first project soon,” Reddy said.

“This is another milestone for us as we strive to break through the region,” he said.

Spencon is one of the leading construction firms in Uganda. It is involved in various construction projects like roads and the Northern Bypass.
