A soccer fan Timothy Sentongo is back home with fond memories of a lifetime trip to the soccer World Cup in Germany.
Sentongo, a network operator and Samuel Kibuuka a teacher and associate pastor, watched Germany beat Costa Rica 4-2 in the opening game in the Olympic Stadium, Munich, June 9.
Sentongo and Kibuuka travelled after winning tickets courtesy of a World Cup promotion sponsored by The New Vision, Emirates Airlines, Capital Radio and SMS Media.
Their colleague Edward Ssimbwa is due to fly out for the quarter-finals.
“I saw people I had only watched on television like Pele, Maradona, Oliver Kahn, Jurgen Klinsmann,†Sentongo said.
“I have always admired these men but seeing them physically was a wonderful moment.â€
Kibuuka praised the friendly, approachable nature of their hosts.
“The trip is unforgettable, given the chance, I would travel again,†he added.
