CHRIS Bagaala was the first seed to fall at the Rwenzori Open at Kampala Club over the weekend.

But the fourth seed went down fighting in straight sets 6-1 7-6(5) to the unranked John Oyet in nearly one hour.
The win pushed Oyet to the second round due today, ahead of the quarterfinals tomorrow.

Oyet was joined by the top seed Godfrey Uzunga who defeated the unseeded Carey Kalungi without much effort 6-1 6-0.

In the women’s singles, the number one player Rosette Musoke advanced to the quarterfinals with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Rose Sexton.
