Prof. Badru Kateregga, the vice-chancellor of Kampala University, wedded on Saturday.
The wedding took place at the home of Hajji Muhamood Sseguya at Kkonge in Makindye division, where Kateregga was introduced by Sarah Naiga, an accountant with Ugachick Company.
Kateregga surprised his in-laws when he asked to wed (okuwoowa) after the introduction ceremony.
The in-laws were caught off-guard, saying they had not prepared for a wedding.
Sheikhs quickly organised the function. Sheikh Muhamood Kibirango from the district Kadhi’s office, who had come to attend the introduction ceremony, accepted to conduct the wedding.
Last year, Kateregga had domestic wrangles that led to his separation with his former wife.
