THE Rukungiri town council authority has listed 57 structures in the town to be demolished because they were constructed either illegally or on sewage lines.
Speaking to journalists at his office recently, town clerk Aggrey Muramira said the affected people, some of whom are prominent politicians and businessmen, had been given two weeks to dismantle their structures.
“If they fail to do so, we shall demolish the structures forcefully,†he said.
He said none of the affected developers would be compensated because they knowingly breached construction regulations. He said the structures were mainly between Karegyesa and Republic roads.
