STANDARD Chartered Bank (StanChart) Africa has notched up five awards from the Euromoney banking excellence 2006 awards ceremony that was held in London recently, a statement has said.
Standard Chartered won best bank award in Botswana, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. It also won best bank award in Africa and best project finance in Africa award.
Sherazam Mazari, the bank’s chief executive officer for Africa, said, “Standard Chartered’s ability to lead the way in providing financial solutions is largely due to the efforts of our capable frontline teams who in turn are supported by product specialists and financial experts drawn from our global network.
"It is our ability to offer international expertise with in-depth local knowledge that makes us a bank of choice for many clients.â€
