Woodlice can be controlled by spraying cracks

THE wood louse (<i>porcellio scaber</i>) also known as slater is a terrestrial crustacean, not an insect. It has an oval body divided into regular segments. It is grey to yellowish-grey in colour. These are found in bathrooms, kitchens, under doormats and material stored in damp places.

The wood louse feeds on heavily decayed wood, soft vegetable, debris and also attacks stock of vegetable foodstuffs. The damage caused in homes may not be considerable, just some small feeding injuries on potatoes, vegetables and fruits, which irritating.

Control measure:
As a nuisance, woodlice have to be controlled by spraying cracks, crevices, joints and other hiding places with insecticides like Baygon EC or solfac.

The insecticides can also be complemented by applying fogs like Mafu KN. In situations where liquids or fogs cannot be used, long-lasting control can be achieved by applying Baygon DP.
