Mengo state minister for education Sauda Namyalo has called on clan leaders to fight the increasing cases of incest, which she blamed on parents’ failure to teach cultural values to their children. Namyalo, a lecturer at Makerere university’s Institute of languages, was on Wednesday speaking at the launch of a music video of St.Lawrence SS, Ssonde in Goma sub-county.

110 arrested
KAMPALA
The Police yesterday arrested 110 people suspected of terrorising residents. Central Police chief Benson Nyeko said the operation was meant to rid the town and neighbouring areas of criminals. Officials from the RDC’s office also took part in the 3:00am to 5:00am exercise.

UMSC denies

The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has deployed a group of youths described as “Abu amuza” to guard its headquarters at Old Kampala. Spokesman Nsereko Mutumba said this was to check theft of shoes and to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
