Vision Reporter reports that Uganda’s foreign affairs ministry has notified the Electoral Commission and media houses about “important information for international observers and journalists, who wish to cover the elections in DRC”.

According to the information from DRC’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, border posts and airports to be used by the international observers and journalists to enter DRC have been demarcated.

In Kinshasa, they are N’djili airport and Beach Ngobila, the border with Brazaville, while in Equator Province they are expected to enter through Zongo.

In Oriental Province, the entry points are Bangboka and Bunia airports, while in North Kivu Province they are the airport of Beni, the border post of Coniche or the Grande Barriere of Goma and the airport of Goma.

Others are the border posts of Ruzizi and Kavimvira in South Kivu Province, the international airport of Luano at Lubumbashi and the border post of Kasumbalesa in Katanga Province.
All DRC borders will be closed on the day of elections “except with the derogation of the high authority of the Republic”, the statement from DRC said.

Observers and journalists from countries with diplomatic links with DRC must pay $100 for an entry visa of six months.
