Six LC5s unopposed

THE Electoral Commission (EC) has announced results for interim district chairpersons of the newly created districts, in which six chairpersons out the 10 districts emerged unopposed.

THE Electoral Commission (EC) has announced results for interim district chairpersons of the newly created districts, in which six chairpersons out the 10 districts emerged unopposed.
Results released yesterday show that Basil Odongpiny P’akiyo was elected unopposed in Amuru district, Wilson Watira was unopposed in Bududa district, David Odea went unopposed in Bukedea district and Kenneth Kaliisa was unopposed in Buliisa.
Others who were elected unopposed are Godfrey Apilo in Dokolo district and Ephraim Kamugisha in Lyantonde district.
John Bosco Ochieng beat Simon Achilla Okoda for the Abim seat, Arthur Mboizi Waako defeated Martin Kisale for the Budaka seat, George Damba Matagala beat Dennis Balwaniregha for Namutamba, while Tommy Obong Ojok beat Alfred Okello Obalo for the Oyam seat.
The districts took effect this month.
