CHESTER Williams gets another chance to fine tune the national side when he engages them in a titanic Tusker Elgon Cup second leg match against arch-rivals Kenya today.

Whereas former Springboks winger Williams will have only preparation for the next round of World Cup qualifiers on his mind, his team will have extra motivation to win the game against a team they love to beat.

“It’s always different when we play Kenya, we never have friendly tests and it is always war. Pride is in victory and nothing less,” assistant coach Yayiro Kasasa said.

Rugby Cranes take on a Kenyan side that has a psychological advantage after winning the trophy for the last three years. The Kenyans snatched a 7-7 draw against Uganda in Kampala’s first leg.

Both countries are in the second round of the 2007 Rugby World Cup qualifiers.

South African coach Williams started his role with a stunning 32-7 victory over 1995 rugby World Cup finalists Ivory Coast in June.
South Africans Willie Roos, Jerome Fortuin and Lesego Legoethe will officiate the match.

The Elgon Cup, a trophy played for annually by the two countries on a home and away basis started far back in 1958 when Uganda beat Kenya 21-11.

Impala’s prop Frank Ndong will captain Kenya against Uganda.
At the same time, hard hitting Impala and national sevens flanker Brian Nyikuli, has been named in the Kenya under-21 team to take on Uganda’s junior team.

Uganda:
P. Magona (captain), R. Adigas, A. Mubiru, B. Makalama, V. Wadia, A. Bukenya, Ochow, M. Soita, R. Seguya, E. Tumusime, T. Mudola, T. Lugya, J. Musoke, A. Musoke, Wakabi.
