SIR — Recently, I read the Platform for Action. this document has the policy concerns for the budget 2006/07 submitted to Government by the private sector.
SIR — Recently, I read the Platform for Action. this document has the policy concerns for the budget 2006/07 submitted to Government by the private sector.
In my view they are very pertinent issues for our economy and even if the Government has not addressed all the concerns raised I think this is a good start. I am glad the Private Sector Foundation advocated the abolition of import duty on energy saving appliances.
The Government has also made a decision to import 500,000 energy-saving bulbs and to support consumers install solar systems.
Government has also allowed waiving of tax for all solar equipment and accessories. I request PSFU to keep pushing for reforms especially on the energy crisis and the pension and social security.
