Your reporter, Harriet Birungi, attributed to me a statement about the sale of Nsambya barracks which I did not make. The quotation is in fact the exact opposite of what I said! When the reporter asked me whether Nsambya barracks had been sold, I told her that as far as I was concerned, it was still a rumour because I had not received confirmation from Major General Kale Kayihura, the Inspector General of Police (right). This is still the position. However, on a personal note I added that it would be better if an investor took over the land and constructed modern apartments because the barracks in its current state was an eyesore to the public although Police officers still live there.
