FROM balancing glasses and plates on trays to gracing the catwalk to perfection, Santa Anzo has done it all. Last Wednesday saw her celebrate five years of her modelling agency, Arapapa.

It also marked the official opening of the agency’s new home at Windsor Loop, Kololo near the British High Commission.
Santa’s story is worth listening to. When she was in secondary school, her father retired from active employment at 55.

So she had to work hard and make ends meet. From working as a waitress 10 years ago at Kampala Casino, Santa now owns a fashion house.

At the event, managed by Sanyu FM, Santa’s models showcased some dazzling black and cream outfits for gents, ladies and kids. The proceeds from their sale will go to CURE International, a non-governmental children’s hospital in Mbale.

Present were Santa’s parents, city tycoon Gordon Wavamunno, Gen. Elly Tumwine, the Alikers and Bob Kabonero, who wished Arapapa would grace the New York catwalks. Kabonero of Kampala Casino has always been supportive of Santa. He gave Arapapa their first assignment.

Also present were Face of Africa finalist Muniirah Namakula and Gaetano Kaggwa of Capital FM among others. Singer Halima Namakula sang a song specially composed for Arapapa, which like a butterfly, seem to be flying in harmony at five years.
