MBARARA district council has approved a policy to allow the district leadership rent out some of its buildings and facilities to raise more resources.
The district council session presided over by the district speaker, Grace Muhairwe, on Friday approved the proposal.
The district LC5 chairman, Wilberforce Yaguma, said the new district headquarters building had a lot of empty space because it was planned for the greater Mbarara district before it was split up.
Yaguma said the council needs funds to boost its dwindling resources. He said Makerere university Business School had shown interest in renting part of the building.
