YESTERDAY’S friendly match against Burkina Faso confirmed that Laszlo Csaba’s Cranes cannot win a game without Ibrahim Sekagya, David Obua, Geoffrey Massa and Nestroy Kizito.

Without a leader on the pitch, the national soccer team was lost for ideas against an indisciplined 10-man Burkina Faso.

Goalkeeper Hannington Kalyesubula, central defenders Andy Mwesigwa and Timothy Batabaire were the closest to national team class at Mandela Stadium Namboole as the front-men gave the 10,000 fans who turned up a lesson on how not to score goals.

But just like team head coach Csaba admitted, his side was given a wake-up call of redesigning a strategy that will establish an evident route for goals.

“The big problem is that we can not score. We have tried to do a lot of things in training that are forgotten during matches. My hope now lies with Massa (Geoffrey),” an optimistic Csaba stated.

“I am satisfied with general possession but not the finishing,” the German added.

The closest Cranes came to scoring was when Noah Kasule had his 30-yard effort end on the upright.

Also missed in midfield was Hakim Magumba, who is ill.
