PETER Magona has been handed another task to lead Uganda to victory against Morocco in the 2007 World Cup qualifier tie set for Saturday at Kampala club.

The Uganda Rugby Union (URU) released a 22-man squad for the highly billed tie that would have the winner top the group that also has Ivory Coast.

Magona, 28, (left) has been one of the forces behind Uganda’s victories against Ivory Coast, Cameroon and the stunning 22-20 win over Kenya in the Elgon Cup last month.

“We have considered the form and previous performances of the players bearing in mind the strength of the team we take on. I am confident the squad is the best Uganda can have,” coach Yayiro Kasasa said.

Brian Tabaruka (winger), Simon Wakabi (fullback) and Adrian Bukenya (lock) who did not play in the first leg against Morocco have been named on the squad that also has experienced Fred Mudoola (prop), Vincent Otim ( flanker) and John Musoke (2nd centre).

The team enters residential training tomorrow under South Africa tactician Chester Williams.

The Atlas Lions, Morocco, are expected in the country on Thursday.
