Hundreds of Christians on Sunday thronged Rwanyana Catholic parish in Ndorwa West, Kabale diocese to witness the ordination of the Rev. Fr. John Vianney Byaruhanga.

Hundreds of Christians on Sunday thronged Rwanyana Catholic parish in Ndorwa West, Kabale diocese to witness the ordination of the Rev. Fr. John Vianney Byaruhanga.
The ceremony, which followed mass, was led by the diocese bishop, Calist Rubaramira and priests from the region.
The function drew 13 MPs including Nusura Tiperu and Dan Kidega of the East African Legislative Assembly and area MP David Bahati.
Byaruhanga, who was posted to Nyakibale catholic parish in Rukungiri district, asked the congregation for prayers to enable him serve God.
Kidega urged the congregation to pray for the government talks with the LRA rebels in Juba, Southern Sudan, so that peace is restored to northern Uganda.
Bahati said, “People are not going to listen to what you preach unless you back it up with living a Godly life,” and asked the church to steer the fight against poverty by mobilising Christians to engage in developmental activities.
