IT was joy and fun at Didi’s Auditorium Kasanga recently when Watoto Children’s Choir held a concert for children from various schools in Kampala. The theme of the concert was “Hope For Kids”.

Parents who accompanied their children to the concert were stopped from entering the hall. It was basically a children’s concert.

Led by the choir leader, Joseph Ogwal, Watoto Children put up a marvellous concert. There were both local dances and gospel music. Songs like Wipolo and Yesu Muuwangu made the children jump from their seats and joined the group as they danced. Those who remained seated cheered their fellow pupils while others kept praying.

Marvin Tumwesigye, a City Parents’ School pupil was among the pupils who got Watoto Choir CDs after performing well in the dance competition. Fifteen pupils who participated in the dance received a CD each.

The show lasted two hours but the children refused to leave the hall, calling for more entertainment.

“We need more entertainment because we are supposed to leave at 5:00pm when our parents pick us from here,” pupils were pleading. But still the concert ended.
