TEN-year-old Joweria Nagawa is seeking financial assistance to undergo open heart surgery and valve replacement, reports Mariam Nalunkuuma.
A statement from the Uganda Heart Institute (UHI) signed by Dr. John Omagino said Nagawa has rheumatic heart disease and needs $14,700 (about sh27m).
“Arrangements can be made to have it done in Madras Medical Mission, (India). the costs cover medical bills, freight and subsistence for the patient and a nurse,†it said.
It said financial assistance in the names of UHI (Joweria Nagawa) can be deposited on account No. 1775930 Barclays bank main branch or given to the mother Juliet Nalwanga of Kisanje, Masaka on 0772-992834.
