PARLIAMENT’S appointments committee has approved justice and constitutional affairs state minister Freddie Ruhindi as the Deputy Attorney General.

The committee, chaired by Speaker Edward ssekandi, interviewed the minister, who is also Nakawa MP for the post last week.

“We interviewed him and we have made our recommendations to the appointing authority,” Ssekandi said on phone yesterday.

The MPs’ approval operationalises article 119 (A) of the Constitution, which allows for a deputy Attorney General who is also the justice and constitutional affairs state minister.
