SIR — The residents of Mpererwe, Kanyanya and Katalemwa Estate suffer noise pollution everyday from a bar called Karibu Inn.
SIR — The residents of Mpererwe, Kanyanya and Katalemwa Estate suffer noise pollution everyday from a bar called Karibu Inn.
The police have been called in a number of times and patrol cars have appeared on the scene to try to discipline the owners and management of this bar.
We thank the police who have helped us so many times to stop the noise after midnight. The days when most noise is experienced are Wednesdays and Sundays.
working residents have to get up the next day to go to work.
This music and loud noise from the loud speaker goes on until morning. The local council authorities in this area have failed to stop the noise although they live in the area. We call upon the mayor of Kampala, NEMA and all the authorities concerned to help us.
This is a human rights abuse, especially to those who suffer from high blood pressure, heart disease and other ailments which need a good night’s rest. We suggest this bar limits its sound or shifts to an area where such discos operate. Like everybody else we have a right to a decent sleep!
