SCRUM-half Robert Seguya will not be part of the Rugby Cranes squad flying today to Ivory Coast for the 2007 World Cup qualifier.

Uganda, that lost to Morocco 5-3 in their recent qualifier in Kampala, take on the Ivorian Elephants with pride at stake in a game whose result would not be of any significance in the nation’s World Cup campaign. The Rugby Cranes thumped Ivory Coast 37-6 in the first leg.

Seguya, who has been on and off during training, is nursing a knee injury sustained during the Moroccan tie.

“We are travelling without Seguya but the team is tuned to defend the victory against Ivory Coast,” said acting coach Yayiro Kasasa.

South African coach Chester Williams (left), away on holiday, is expected to join the side in Abidjan, according to Uganda Rugby Union officials.

On the team are key players Fred Mudoola (prop), Allan Musoke (winger), Victor Wadia (lock), Edmond Tumusime (fly half) and captain Peter Magona.

Ivory Coast, that drew 9-9 with Morocco and lost to Uganda 36-7, will be praying for revenge to brush off the humiliation before they play the Atlas Lions in their last tie.
