THE High Court in Masaka has nullified the election of Kalungu east MP James Sserunjogi for using fake academic credentials to register.
Justice Ssempa Lugayizi ruled that fresh elections be conducted.
He ordered the Police to press criminal charges against Sserunjogi for using false academic papers.
Shock gripped court when Sserunjogi, clad in a dark blue suit, fainted in disbelief before he was lifted out by his supporters.
The ruling followed a petition filed by former area MP, Lule Mawuya challenging Sserunjogi’s academic documents.
