President Yoweri museveni has urged Muslims to use the holy month of ramadhan to reflect on and thank God for the achievements made in the political, economic and social spheres.

In a message to Muslims on ramadhan, Museveni said, “I wish to take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the entire Muslim community upon reaching ramadhan, the holiest month of the Islamic calendar.

“Fasting is not only a renewal of man’s faith and commitment to God, but also a healthy practice that purifies the body, heart and soul.

This being the month of repentance of our sins, it is prudent that we shall all make peace with God and fellow man.

“I call upon you during this period to reflect on and thank God for the achievements registered in the past in the political, economic and social spheres. Let us all work towards the transformation of our country Uganda using our freedoms to do the will of God.

“I pray that Allah accepts our fasting. Once again, may I wish you all a happy and prosperous month of Ramadhan. May Allah bless you all.”
