THE National Planning Authority (NPA) has unveiled the draft national development plan, reports Milton Olupot.

The Comprehensive National Development Planning Framework is to facilitate and guide national and decentralised development planning.

The 30-year vision running to 2035 provides a holistic approach to long term planning in Uganda, describing the process through which plans produced by sectoral and decentralised local planning systems will be integrated into national plans.

Planning state minister Omwony Ojwok said in a statement the new plan was aimed at achieving a modern industrialised nation in 30 years. It also outlines roles and responsibilities of actors at various levels.

NPA chief Saul Kaye said more ideas from both the locals and Ugandans in the diaspora would be welcome.
