MAKERERE University clinched a third straight utl Inter-University swimming championship title after accumulating 784 points in 30 events.
Inspired by Gilbert Kaburu and Aya Nakitanda, Makerere University finished with a 245 points difference over rivals Ndejje, who settled for second place.
Kaburu put up commanding performances which saw him secure pole position in the men’s 50m and 100m backstroke as Nakitanda clinched maximum points in the women’s 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle events at International School of Uganda.
Muzafaru Muwaguzi added onto Makerere University’s points tally when he came first in the men’s 100m butterfly.
Although Ndejje and Kampala International Universities won the last two events, Makerere took the championship trophy for amassing more points.
