CRANES second choice goalkeeper Hannington Kalyesubula has passed trials at Ethiopian soccer giants St.George.

The custodian returned to the country yesterday to consult and agree a transfer fee with his club Police.
“We received a letter from St.George FC requesting us to set a fee. We are happy that he passed his trials,” Police secretary Joseph Okech stated yesterday.

“We have been asked for a fee but we are having a meeting later today to agree on the fee. He will go for something between $10000 and $20000 (sh37m),” Okech predicted.

St.George are seeking the services of the Ugandan custodian as replacement for Cranes first choice Denis Onyango, who had a stint with the Ethiopians until August before he moved to South African side SuperSport. Midfielder Assan Bajope also had a spell at the club.

Kalyesubula helped Police FC to their first league title in 2005 before helping them to the CECAFA Club Championship title. FUFA gave him permission to go for the trials but lost contact with him and he missed the Niger game.
