THE Government has been urged to give Bunyoro Kingdom a big stake accruing from oil explorations.
The LC5 chairman for Masindi, Steven Birija, said, “We should be included in the ongoing oil explorations. The oil discovery is a blessing to our region.â€
Birija was on Saturday addressing the Banyoro during a symposium on oil discovery at Fairway Hotel in Kampala.
He said the Banyoro lack the confidence to take up the challenge to explore the oil.
Buliisa County MP Steven Mukitale urged local leaders to support the Government in exploring the oil.
“The Banyoro should be patriotic and protect the oil discovery, because as a region, we shall benefit and develop our area,†he said.
