<b>EU prints</b><br>KAMPALA - The European Union (EU) has printed 1,000 brochures for Tourism Uganda to be distributed at the World Travel Market exhibition in London next month.

KAMPALA - The European Union (EU) has printed 1,000 brochures for Tourism Uganda to be distributed at the World Travel Market exhibition in London next month. “The brochures will be distributed free of charge.
“We shall carry them with us to London,” Sylvia Kalembe, the senior information officer at Tourism Uganda, said last week. Other pro material include bird watching books.

Madaada tips

KAYUNGA - The Government is committed to ensuring that activities of business groups are funded, the state minister for the elderly and disability, Sulaiman Madaada said recently. Madaada was speaking during the handover of a sh4m cheque and sh200,000 in cash to Kitimbwa Business Group.

Goat meat

MUKONO - The LC5 chief, Francis Lukooya, has tipped farmers to earn millions of shillings from rearing goats and pigs.He said there is scarcity of goats’ meat and pork in the district since very few farmers rear the animals.“Farmers should venture into unexploited areas with little competition to earn big. Goats rearing are an example,” he said.

URA blacklists

KAMPALA - Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has re-issued the names of clearing firms that it intends to suspend for failure to adhere to regulations. The authority had earlier served the firms with letters in which they were urged to rectify the irregularities that emerged while clearing goods but they reportedly failed to respond, URA said in a Tuesday statement.

Fake money

KAMPALA - The central bank has warned of a new mode of counterfeit currency notes in circulation. The director for currency, John Wamukota, said in an interview recently that fraudsters were defacing currency banknotes by removing the silver foil stripes on genuine notes and putting them onto the fake notes.
