Bereaved family dies in car crash

FIVE people, three of them from the same family, died in an accident on Friday.
This occurred when a taxi they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck at Maya on the Kampala-Masaka highway.
Robert Batte, the chairman of UTODA Gayaza stage in the Old Taxi Park, Resty Nassanga, his sister and a taxi conductor only identified as Lubega died instantly.
Batte’s brother David Kakembo died at Mulago hospital. The 8:00pm incident happened when the driver of taxi registration number UAG 209P rammed into a lorry loaded with wood.
Police said the passengers were heading to kampala from Katikampanda in Gomba, Mpigi district where they had gone for the burial of the late Ssalongo Ssozi, Batte’s elder brother.
