Pastor Randy Morrison, one of the world’s leading evangelists, is coming to Uganda. Randy is expected on Saturday morning for a two-day evangelical mission at Miracle Centre Cathedral (MCC), Rugaba.

Pastor Randy Morrison, one of the world’s leading evangelists, is coming to Uganda. Randy is expected on Saturday morning for a two-day evangelical mission at Miracle Centre Cathedral (MCC), Rugaba.
A few hours after arrival, he will address a leader’s conference at the MCC, where the public is invited from 2:00pm to 9:00pm. On Sunday, Morrison will be a guest preacher during the 8:30am, 10:30am and 5:30pm prayer sessions.
From a poverty stricken childhood in Trinidad, Morrison, 54, has emerged as one of the world’s most influential preachers. He has widely travelled the world on spiritual and motivational missions.
His church, Speak the Word Church International in Minneapolis, USA, accommodates thousands of people per session and his television programme, A Common Sense Approach, is watched throughout the world in over 150 countries. In Uganda, it is regularly telecast on Light House Television.
“His influence is global. People will get blessed when they listen to him. He has an inspirational story to tell and something he will definitely pass on to this generation,†said Pastor Arthur Nsamba of the Miracle Centre.
Morrison’s mother was just 16, when she gave birth to him in 1952 on Trinidad Island in the West Indies.
Since Morrison’s father was not around, his teenage mother dedicated her life to providing means for him to grow and prosper. While he was a teenager, his mother even sacrificed about four years away from him.
She went to work in USA to seek better opportunities for them. Morrison was touched by his mother’s selfless sacrifices and as he was developing into an adult, he desired to find a better life for his struggling mother.
It was only in 1971 that Morrison, at the age of 19, left Trinidad for the first time to reunite with his mother, who had found employment in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
On November 7, in the same year, following a church service in the metropolitan Twin Cities area, Morrison made a significant decision that would dramatically turn his life around.
He became a born-again Christian. For close to six years, he served as an usher, a leader of the church’s prayer ministry and a teacher at a weekly Bible study. On May 6, 1977, Morrison employed his leadership skills to eventually launch his own church – Speak the Word Church International.
But a congregation of six in the pews was hardly an encouraging start. Yet Morrison, armed with faith and perseverance, never gave up. And for his loyalty, God is rewarding him in heaps; Speak the Word Church International has grown to become one of the largest multi-racial churches in the United States.
He has authored a number of books, the most recent being You were created to work not to have a job and How to reflect Godly confidence without being arrogant. He also started a television programme, A Common Sense Approach, which is watched by millions across the globe.
According to Morrison, the programme is designed to help viewers live their lives “by design and not from crisis to crisis.â€
A perennially sought-after global speaker, Morrison uses his life experience and spiritual anointing to positively impact lives throughout the world.
Pastor Nsamba said any person, whether in business, corporate or a layman who wants to succeed, needs listen to some living success stories for inspiration, and Morrison offers just that.
