STEEL Okello bounced back to the victory podium by winning the UDA Open darts championship in Gulu last weekend.

The Lira darts star beat Chris Barungi 2-1 to snatch the top honour at Gulu’s Sports View Gardens.

Before reaching the final, the champion showed immense accuracy by whipping URA’s Patrick Kateregga 2-0. The victory showed Okello’s top form ahead of the Kenya Open due on November 18-19.

It also proved his worth as captain of Lira’s Galaxy Darts Club in the league play-off due in Masaka in December.

To reach the final, Okello, saw off Alfred Akena 2-1 while Barungi stopped John Odwek also on a similar margin.

Meanwhile 45 players have registered for the Kenya Open championship in Nairobi next weekend. The contingent will be led by UDA chairman Abbey Ariong.
