Where are the internship opportunities?

SIR — I have heard several employers complaining that some institutions are producing theoretical graduates yet they want skill-oriented graduates.

SIR — I have heard several employers complaining that some institutions are producing theoretical graduates yet they want skill-oriented graduates. Actually, the institution offers the theoretical part of the course and the student is supposed to get the skills and experience during the industrial training.
The problem is that some companies do not admit students who are seeking intrenship. We should stop blaming the institutions for this phenomenon. It is these companies which are to blame. How can one gain skills and experience without doing industrial training?
It is absurd that bright people can be denied opportunities to exhibit their capabilities.
If we want to have skill-orientated graduates in Uganda, companies should allow students to do their internship so as to put the theory into practice.
