THE embattled Hornsleth project has expanded, its executive director said on Saturday. The project at Buteyongera village in Kasawo sub-county, Mukono district has opened in three districts of Kampala, Kayunga and Mukono.

“A number of branches have been launched in Lungujja, Ndeeba and Nalukolongo in Lubaga Division in Kampala.

“In Kayunga and Mukono, we have reached seven parishes of Ntooke, Kabimbili, Kyabazaala, Kasawo, Kasana, Mpoma and Kyampisi,” Henry Hornsleth Kayondo said.

He said this while handing over 1,300 goats and sheep to new members at Buteyongera.

Kayondo said the project had now registered 5,545 new members.
He asked the government not to fight the project, saying it had advertised Uganda worldwide.

Kayondo said adopting Hornsleth’s name and painting an object using the colours of the national flag was not illegal.

“Kristian Von Hornsleth is a Danish artist. Because he is our funder, we decided to adopt his Hornsleth name as a middle name.

“If anybody is not happy with Hornsleth, they are free to fund us and we shall never call ourselves Hornsleth again,” he said.

Kayondo said the project was not a religion as some MPs allege. He said it had finalised plans to venture into coffee processing. He said by next year, the project would be exporting roasted coffee to Denmark and other countries in Europe.
