Kabaka Ronald Mutebi has directed the Buganda Land Board (BLB) officials to put a caveat on 25 plots of land in Mutungo Kitiko.
Akright Projects Limited is planning to sell the plots on the Kabaka’s 30-acre land that is adjacent the Lubowa estates.

Mutebi wants Akright to either compensate him at the current land value for the 102 plots which were sold off, or to nullify all the land titles of the plots which are part of his 350square mile land.

Akright managing director Anatoli Kamugisha insists he got the 30 acres on Kyaddondo Block 273 plot 321 from the Ministry of Lands.

He said on Wednesday officials in the lands ministry had assured him that he was the rightful owner.

Kamugisha, however, feigned ignorance of any communication on the matter from Mengo, saying he learnt of it in the newspapers.
Levi Zzimbe, the BLB secretary, said they had communicated to Kamugisha through their lawyer A.F. Mpanga.

But Kamugisha said, “ We are not rigid. if they communicate, we shall also raise grounds on the way forward.”

He said he had received reports from a reliable source that the Kabaka had sacked some of BLB officials over mishandling the issue.
A source close to the Kabaka refuted Kamugisha’s claims, referring to them as ‘delaying tactics’ so as not to scare his clients.
