DEFENDING champion, UPDF will seek pole position when they take on Prisons in a national handball league match today.
Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) have collected six points from two matches in the men’s league, and trails table leaders Police by two points.
A victory for UPDF at the Kyambogo pitch today will see them overtake Police at the top of the table.
Moses Akena, who leads the men’s scoring chart with 13 goals, has another chance to impress when he leads UPDF against third-placed Prisons.
But the army side should be wary of Prisons who are coming off a 33-25 victory over Makerere, and are looking to improve to second place.
Meanwhile, Prisons women will be fighting to maintain top spot on the standings when they take on Ndejje at the same venue. The other game will see UPDF and Police face off.
