SIR — The utterances of Aruu’s MP, Odonga Otto about war against prospective investors last week, was totally unconstitutional as Uganda’s constitution calls on citizens to foster national unity and live in harmony with others.

SIR — The utterances of Aruu’s MP, Odonga Otto about war against prospective investors last week, was totally unconstitutional as Uganda’s constitution calls on citizens to foster national unity and live in harmony with others.

Otto vowed and called on his constituents to “spear on sight any investor seen in his constituency”! His utterances were also against the constitutional national objective which calls on citizens to contribute to the wellbeing of the community where the citizens live.

All peace-loving Ugandans should condemn Otto’s myopic and dangerous statement calculated to sow seeds of discord and keep in perpetual poverty the people of northern Uganda who have suffered under Kony’s brutal war for a long time!

It seems Otto is happy to see thousands of people from northern Uganda begging on the streets of Kampala, living on relief aid while exposed to crime, hunger and disease! We call upon the parliamentary committee on discipline to prevail on Otto to explain his utterances and their possible consequences.

What economic programme does Otto have in place for his suffering constituents?

We believe he wants political and economic dominance to manipulate the poor people he represents. Otto should apologise for his reckless utterances.
