Obsessions lose song over sh50,000

With the power of one good song determining how high a singer can soar lately, the demand for good-song writing skills is high. Local artistes will do anything to get their hands on the next big hit.

With the power of one good song determining how high a singer can soar lately, the demand for good-song writing skills is high. Local artistes will do anything to get their hands on the next big hit.

Recently, the Obsessions lost such a song to WBS TV Weekender presenter and burgeoning singer, Desire Luzinda.

Apparently, the song, Nkomyewo, was written by one Agnes, who was set to sell it to the Obsessions for sh250,000. But Obsession’s Ronnie Mulindwa was offerring sh200,000. As the group was still bargaining for the price cut, Desire snatched it: She paid the full amount and immediately rushed to record the song at No End Studios.

Worse still, the Obsessions had mastered the lyrics and were set to record the song.
