WORLD number one kayaker Steve Fisher from South Africa warded off a stiff challenge from over 30 world kayakers to win the 4th Nile Freestyle Festival 2006.

WORLD number one kayaker Steve Fisher from South Africa warded off a stiff challenge from over 30 world kayakers to win the 4th Nile Freestyle Festival 2006.
Fisher’s antics on the wave the size of a two-storey house won him the Nile Special big trick competition, which came with a sh1m cash prize. Sam Ward from Wales came a close second.
The sh20m Nile Breweries-funded event attracted over 60 competitors from 11 countries.
The Team Uganda Kayakers showed their prowess on the final day, making a clean sweep of the Boda Boda Extreme endurance race.
