WE wrote recently that DJ Hakeem Saga risked being sued for the defamatory statements he made against managers of Volts Discothèque.

By press time, Hakeem had recorded a statement and was set free on bond. He was supposed to report back at 3:00pm on Friday with Hussein. Hakeem voluntarily presented himself to the station after he had twice dishonoured Police summons.

Hakeem had asked Hussein Shukery, the club proprietor to go to Capital Radio and settle the issue with his bosses. However, Hussein referred him to his lawyers and the police, saying they were handling the case.

Efforts by Hakeem to resolve the matter amicably were snubbed by Hussein, who claimed Hakeem used his radio slot to discredit Volts Discothèque after the two fell out. Hussein apparently wanted to teach Hakeem a lesson.
